Almost all firms in the UK will be expected to automatically enrol all qualifying employees into a Pension Scheme by their staging date. Employees must be enrolled before they can opt-out. Therefore, all qualifying employees must be automatically enrolled. Even those who choose to opt-out will have to be re-enrolled automatically every three years. You will not be able to discuss the option of opt-out with an employee. If you are found to have provided an incentive or influenced an employee in any way to opt-out, you will be prosecuted.

As an employer, you will have to be able to provide full records of this process at any time The Pensions Regulator requests them.
