How to Identify the Different Categories of Workers for Pension Schemes

Once you have assessed your workforce, the next step is for you to determine what type of worker you have as it is only with regard to certain types of worker that you will have duties to perform.

There are two types of worker:

• Jobholders
• Entitled workers

Jobholder’s then further subdivides into two groups:

• Eligible jobholders
• Non-eligible jobholders

You will have duties, albeit different ones for each category in respect of:

• Eligible jobholders
• Non-eligible jobholders
• Entitled workers
